It seems like just yesterday we were running Abroad101 from a basement-turned-office or from the bustling corners of One Marina Park. Now, we’ve officially been in our new office for one whole week! Last Monday, several of our staff packed themselves into a small UHaul and happily lugged office furniture along with other goodies (think exercise bike) across Boston. We’re now officially located at 107 South St, Boston MA!
After a bitter sweet goodbye to our office at MassChallenge, we are elated to have our own space where we can work, play and make a real difference in the lives of those looking to study abroad. Below are just a few wonderful aspects of our new space. We’re still waiting to get completely set up, but fear not, many more pics and news will be on the way from 107 South St. We’re thinking a paint job and LOTS of maps for starters!
The Neighborhood: Just a jaunt from Boston’s South Station, our new space is in the Leather District, centrally located and quite swanky. Our building was constructed in the 1800s, so it has lots of history to it! The area nearby is also host to some of the best lunch spots around! We’ve been here for a week and already had two team lunches courtesy of Boston’s Chinatown!
The Space: An awesome loft style space, we have 2,500 ft to spread out and work with plenty of room to spare. There are many rooms that we can utilize for meeting, quiet time or karaoke! Yup, one room came with a small stage just for us.
Lots of Nooks and Crannies: The way the space is laid out, there is a large open space in the middle of the office, yet it comes with a handful of smaller rooms that we’ve found to be quite cozy. One of our employees, Tami, already claimed her spot in what could be called a large closet!
New Members: Most importantly, our new space allows our team to keep growing. We already have several new members for the summer and can’t wait to welcome more come Fall! And don’t worry, we’re fully equipped with about 40 different chairs, so anyone and everyone is welcome to come visit!
If you have any ideas on projects or things we can include in our new office we’d love to hear them! Stay tuned for more info and pics soon!
